Sage Payment Solutions Launches PCI DSS Compliance Initiative for Its Merchant Portfolio

AmbironTrustWave's TrustKeeper to help Sage's Merchants validate PCI DSS compliance

CHICAGO and MCLEAN, Va., March 22 -- Sage Payment Solutions has launched a data security compliance program supporting its entire merchant services portfolio. The program will assist Sage Payment Solutions' merchants in their efforts to validate compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Sage Payment Solutions has partnered with AmbironTrustWave to provide data security and compliance services to its merchants.

PCI DSS was introduced in 2004 and recently all the major card associations have endorsed the standard under a single governing body, the PCI Security Standards Council ( www.pcisecuritystandards.org/ ). It has evolved to be the standard of due care for securing credit card information that is processed and/or transmitted by merchants and payment service providers. Merchant compliance requirements are segmented into four levels based on the number of transactions a merchant processes annually and the channel employed to accept those transactions. Compliance with PCI DSS is mandatory for all merchants that accept credit cards.

As a result of this new service, Sage Payment Solutions merchants will have easy online access to the tools and services they need to comply with the PCI DSS:

o Compliance Validation Services - Remote and on-site data security and
compliance management solutions for large retailers, supermarkets,
restaurants and petroleum merchants.

o Risk Profiler and TrustKeeper® - Secure web-based portal for all
merchants to access the PCI DSS self-assessment questionnaire,
vulnerability scanning and compliance report, which includes any
remediation actions required to address identified vulnerabilities.

o Trusted Commerce Seal: Merchants who achieve PCI DSS compliance through
TrustKeeper will have the ability to display AmbironTrustWave's
"Trusted Commerce" compliance seal on their e-commerce Web sites. The
seal indicates to consumers that the merchant is receiving compliance
services that help protect sensitive credit card and order information.

Bob Bennett, COO of Sage Payment Solutions, said: "We view this as an opportunity to help safeguard merchants and consumers from credit card theft and fraud related activities. Implementing to PCI data security standards not only protects card holder data but helps merchants get their arms around potential threats and exposures with their current business practices."

"We are excited to work with Sage Payment Solutions -- one of the premier brand names in the payment industry -- to provide PCI DSS compliance solutions to their merchants," said Robert McCullen, CEO of AmbironTrustWave. "With the increasing volume of card transactions in both card present and card-not- present environments, it is more critical than ever for merchants to protect consumer cardholder data through compliance with the PCI DSS."
