HORSHAM, PA - The IntelliPoint SXRNT Series RF Admittance Point Level Switch from AMETEK Drexelbrook. conforms to IEC61508-2, Sec. 7,4,3,1 1999 FMEDA standards for Safety Integrity Instrumentation (SIL) as evaluated by Exida. The SXRNT Series is suitable for SIL1 and SIL2 installations and for SIL3 installations when installed as two redundant switches.
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) developed the IEC 61508-2 standard to assist companies in implementing Safety Related Systems. It specifies the techniques and measures recommended to achieve the required Safety Integrity Level. There are four Safety Integrity Levels ranging from 1(lowest) to 4 (highest) that are based on the potential risk and number of opportunities for failure.
