New Sensor Combines Advantages Of A Non-Contacting Sensor With The Benefits Of Mechanical Latching

Hainesville, Il. - Elobau Sensor Technology announces a new Machine Safety Sensor with a magnetic latch between the sensor and coded actuating magnet offering both the easy mounting and good misalignment tolerance of non-contact sensors, with the positive latching capability provided by mechanical latches.

The compact size of the switch magnet assembly makes it ideal for use in limited space applications for movable machine guards and articulated robot arms.

The sensor and the corresponding magnet are sealed to the protection class IP 67 (IEC 529) assuring long-term operational reliability for wash down or other hostile environments.

Its tamper-resistant design, which incorporates a coded magnet, prevents users from bypassing the sensor by introducing an "off-the shelf" magnet; helping to prevent breaching the integrity of the safety system.

The new sensors can be used with a variety of Elobau central control units and meet the highest safety requirements up to category 4 of EN 954. They can be used for sliding guard doors where holding a force not more than 20 Newton is required.
