Visao(tm) Sees Future in Securing Individual Safety Asset Tracking

Company Develops LifeGuard II Personal Monitoring System

TYLER, Texas - Sept. 8, 2004 - It used to be virtually impossible for any facilities manager or chief of security to know where all employees, contractors, visitors and other high-profile individuals were at any given time. That might not be such a big deal when everyone works in the same room, but large industrial facilities, companies with remote workers and those who protect VIPs need to know everyone is safe. Visao(tm) Systems Inc., a Teletouch Communications (AMEX: TLL) company, gives them that capability with the LifeGuard II personal monitoring system.

"People pay a lot of lip service to supporting employee safety, but few companies have measures in place that offer real protection for their workers," said Visao President Kernan Crotty. "With the LifeGuard II unit from Visao, companies have a way to monitor workers and ensure that if employees need help, it will be sent immediately."

Using wireless telemetry, GPS and machine-to-machine (M2M) asset monitoring and reporting technology, the LifeGuard II unit, which is approximately the size of a PDA, can be worn on the individual's person. It features automatic reporting capabilities that will notify emergency personnel in the event that an individual becomes immobile or registers symmetrical motion (such as an electrical worker swinging upside down from the utility access crane). Also, if an individual encounters an emergency situation, he or she can trigger the device manually to signal an alert. Emergency personnel will be able to know where the individual is located and respond immediately to that location. Other parameters, including medical history and known medication allergies of the wearer, can be programmed into the software to ensure the proper medical care is given. LifeGuard II works in connection with Visao's mapping and report-generation software, GeoFleet(tm). Users can set up boundaries and program the LifeGuard II unit to report when a worker, contractor or visitor has crossed into an unauthorized area. This improves the safety of the individual and helps to guard against employee misconduct or infiltration of certain facility areas by unauthorized personnel.

"The LifeGuard II unit uses frequent reporting to help companies monitor the location of personnel," said Visao Systems Personal Monitoring Division Vice President Debbie Stewart. "With this feature, companies will be able to keep unauthorized personnel from entering dangerous or high-security areas where they could be easily hurt."

LifeGuard II is powered by a rechargeable battery. At the site, the device works in concert with a receiver and repeater units, depending on the size of the site. Visao is conducting tests of the LifeGuard II devices with multiple third-party groups.
