New Safety Gate EX3 System Provides Easy Access To Plant Work, Storage Areas

MILWAUKEE--The Rite-Hite Aftermarket Corporation introduced the Safety Gate EX3 System today which provides easy access to plant work areas and storage areas. The Safety Gate EX3 also can be used at loading docks as a low cost alternative to help meet the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standard 1910.23 regarding protection for wall openings and holes.

The unique Safety Gate EX3 is constructed from extruded polyvinylchloride (PVC) and has a counterbalance system to help keep the gate in raised vertical position or in the closed horizontal position.

"After seeing the frustrations some customers were experiencing with traditional steel safety gates, we have developed an alternative solution," Rite-Hite Aftermarket President and CEO Paul Maly said. "The Safety Gate EX3 is already improving safety of plants across the country."

The manual Safety Gate EX3 Barrier System is available for openings 5-feet up to 10-feet wide. The standard gate system includes two 43-inch high 5-inch diameter steel
posts, two 7-inch high PVC rails with safety striping system and anchoring hardware.

The white 7-inch high by 3-inch PVC rails provide high a visibility barrier while absorbing 200-pounds of force from any direction from material handling equipment.

Safety yellow powder coated 5-inch diameter 11-gauge steel posts provide
support for the rails and make a rugged barrier that is able to withstand incidental material handling equipment impacts. The compact design allows the Safety Gate EX3 to be installed in most applications.

The Safety Gate EX3 is simple and easy to operate. A gas-shock counterbalance system requires less than 25-pounds of force to place the Safety Gate EX3 in its vertical open position or in its horizontal closed position.
