Adalet Increased Safety Enclosures with Intrinsically Safe Terminals are intended for electrical connections within a properly designed intrinsically safe system.
These enclosures are suitable for areas where ignitable concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, liquids and dusts can exist under normal operating conditions. They are also ideal for indoor and outdoor areas where dampness and highly-corrosive atmospheres are present, such as in refineries, water treatment, food processing, coating, salt, and chemical facilities.
The Intrinsically Safe protection method is based on the restriction of electrical energy circulating or stored within the apparatus or wiring. When exposed to an explosive atmosphere, such energy levels cannot cause ignition by either sparking or thermal affect.
