Non-Contact Fiber Optic Safety Elements Provide Flexible Perimeter and Access Guarding

The points are designed for use with the PICO-GUARD fiber optic controller for personnel safety applications. Multiple emitter and receiver points can be arranged to create a customized optical safety grid that meets Safety Category 4 requirements. Constructed of either impact-resistant polycarbonate or stainless steel, PICO-GUARD Points can guard distances up to 28.7 m and resist damage from moisture and debris.
Multiple pairs mounted in a grid detect a body or torso as a person enters the hazardous area. An example application is access to a paint booth. Because they operate with light and use no electricity at the point of detection, PICO-GUARD Points are perfect for perimeter and access guarding applications in explosive environments.
