Differentiated-Input Safety Controller Does Double-Duty
Elmsford, New York, April 4, 2004 ... SCHMERSAL is pleased to announce the introduction of the newest addition to their CE-compliant family of safety controllers.
The new, dual-input SRB 202C and SRB 400C are general-purpose controllers designed for use with safety devices having two normally-closed and/or one normally-closed and one normally-open dry contacts. Uniquely they provide differentiated switching of the safety outputs depending upon the input that is actuated.
For example, actuating an E-stop as input #1 would disable all of the unit's safety outputs, while actuating of input #2 (e.g. a safety door interlock) would only disable half of the available safety outputs. Thus this functionality, normally requiring two discrete safety controllers, can be achieved with a single unit.
Both 22.5 mm wide models feature plug-in screw terminals, an electronic fuse, cross-short monitoring, feedback monitoring, and user-selectable automatic or monitored-manual reset. UL-listed, CSA-certified, and CE-compliant ... they are suitable for satisfying up to safety category 4 requirements.
