Multi-Function Electrical Safety Compliance Analyzers Featuring 500VA Testing Capabilities

Associated Research has added two new models to the HypotMAX(TM) series

Lake Forest, Illinois, March 2005 - Announced today by Associated Research, Inc., was the addition of two models to their HypotMAX(TM) family of instruments. These new multi-function electrical safety compliance analyzers with 500 VA testing capability join the fully automated dielectric withstand analyzers already in the product family.

Model 7700 is a 3-in-1 tester that features 5 KV AC Hipot @ 100 mA (500VA), 6 KV DC Hipot @ 10 mA, and Insulation Resistance testing. The Model 7704 is a 4-in-1 tester that features 5 KV AC Hipot @ 100 mA (500VA), 6 KV DC Hipot @ 10 mA, Insulation Resistance, and 30 Amp Ground Bond testing. These testers provide flexibility to manufacturers who need to perform a variety of product safety tests including a 500 VA Hipot test. They are able to meet their requirements with a single instrument, which is more cost-effective than purchasing several to fill the same requirements.

Associated Research has taken the advanced technology they developed and applied it to these testers to provide more efficient and safer testing for high voltage applications. To enhance user safety, all models include auto discharge and a remote safety interlock, both limit an operator's exposure to high voltage. All models are fully automated and come complete with RS-232 or GPIB automation interfaces. In addition the HypotMAX family includes advanced features such as Associated Research's patented SmartGFI® safety circuit and their patented Charge-LO and Ramp-HI systems. These HypotMAX models also feature simple menu control, 50 memory locations with 8 steps per memory, and electronic ramp and dwell settings. Lastly, HypotMAX can be run with Autoware, Associated Research's exclusive instrument control software program. As with all of Associated Research instruments, the HypotMAX family will include safety agency listing making them the only instruments of this type to include safety agency listings.

HypotMAX also features digitally controlled arc detection, enhanced PLC control, built-in security settings, line and load regulation, and no load set up.
