TERBERG MATEC UK LTD
STAND OA160 - RWM 2007

Terberg's BioWaste collection solution, the ABUV, is hungry for success at RWM 2007, the event rounds off a busy and successful show season for the leading bin-lift and specialist recycling vehicle supplier.

The ABUV or Aluminium Bodied Utility Vehicle is the latest addition to Terberg's BioWaste product portfolio and is designed specifically for food and organic 'green' material collections. The ABUV meets the requirements of EN1774:2002 Animal By-Products Regulation and is configured with a TL360 side-lifter to discharge wheeled bins at roof height to ensure that the whole of the body volume is used effectively. An optional, removable aluminium trough is also available making the ABUV versatile enough to cope with food and organic materials no matter how it is presented.

Its 10 cubic metre volume aluminium body is designed to withstand routine steam cleaning, provides excellent corrosion resistance and has a leak resistant sealing system fitted to the rear door. Available on 3.5t GVW or 7.5t GVW chassis', the ABUV comes as standard with Terberg's underfloor tipping gear and as with all Terberg vehicles, the body is constructed with a robust subframe mounted onto chassis rails in accordance with current body-builder guidelines to provide maximum stability.

The ABUV's E-stop system meets the EN418:1992 safety directive and it is also fitted with a host of other safety features including park brake monitoring interlocks, a vehicle height warning system, burst hose protection and engine speed control as standard.

Director for Terberg, Will Marzano says "When designing the ABUV we considered not only the functional aspects of the ABUV's intended duties but also it's safety in operation. At Terberg we operate a strong health and safety ethos throughout our business process and this is embedded in our product design ensuring that we fall in line with all current and future legislation. We aren't willing to concede on safety and believe the ABUV to be one of the safest, most robust and capable BioWaste collection solutions available."

Other products available for viewing at the RWM are Terberg's popular kerbside recycling collection solution, the Kerbsider® and muniTRACK, their municipal vehicle tracking and data system.

The Kerbsider®-25n on display will be a narrow-track vehicle plucked from a significant recent order for over 10 Kerbsider®'s from the Verdant Group and includes all of the safety features detailed for the ABUV plus some extra features as the vehicle is also configured with Terberg's MVR unit. The innovative Material Volume Reduction (MVR) unit is designed to crush high-volume, low-density materials such as cans and plastics as they are discharged into the vehicle winning back valuable recycling body volume and optimising payload utilisation.

More than 135 years of Terberg

Terberg's origins go back in time for more than a century from humble beginnings in 1869 in the Netherlands, to growing over the last century into a multi-national group with a large number of subsidiaries in various business sectors.

Established in 1989 by Godfried Terberg, Terberg Matec UK Ltd, a member of the Netherlands based Terberg group, is well known within the refuse collection industry, originally set up as an organisation to manage the distribution of Terberg bin lifting systems in the UK. Sales of Terberg bin lift systems have grown year on year since 1989. Subsequently Terberg also established itself as a supplier of multi-compartment specialist recycling vehicles.

The latter product line was added following the acquisition in 2000 of Will Engineer, a leading specialist body-builder and recycling vehicle manufacturer. Terberg now has over 180 employees shared between its head office in Warrington and its purpose-built manufacturing facility in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. More than 50 of this head count are involved directly in providing Terberg's after sales service.

As the sales of bin lifts and specialist recycling vehicles have increased, Terberg Matec UK Ltd., has continually invested to ensure that the Company's after sales organisation remains capable of supporting the increasing 'population' of Terberg products in the UK.

Terberg Matec UK is firmly established as one of the UK's leading names in the waste handling and recycling equipment markets.

Terberg are justifiably proud of our reputation for having one of the best teams in the business.

Terberg has built and continues to build its organisation on the principle of providing customers with what they want most; consistency of personnel, industry-wide experience, in-depth knowledge and reliability.

Add to this, a range of services that more than ably demonstrate its commitment to service, and you can see why more and more local authorities and commercial waste companies put their trust in Terberg.

As a matter of philosophy Terberg Matec UK Ltd is dedicated to producing quality products and services, which continue to satisfy the needs and requirements of our customers in all respects of Quality, Cost, Performance, Safety and Reliability.

There is total commitment to effective quality management at every level within the Company, by the operation of a quality system, maintained by internal audits, an annual management review and external audits by recognised bodies.
