Save valuable time and money with Hammerite®, RustCap(TM), the rust-encapsulating finish designed for demanding commercial, industrial and institutional applications.
Made by the makers of KILZ® brand primers and sealers, Hammerite needs no metal primer. It can be painted directly over firm, rusty surfaces such as iron and steel. It provides a deep, rich, decorative finish resistant to corrosion and the damaging effects of moisture and severe weather.
As the rust-encapsulating coating dries, heat-hardened glass flakes interlock with special resins to form a surface of protective resin and glass particles. Moisture and dirt can't penetrate it, so rust can't get started or continue.
Hammerite dries to the touch in 30-45 minutes. It is available in a broad range of traditional hammered finish colors and smooth finish tones including OSHA safety finishes.
Gallons, quarts and aerosol containers are available. A high-heat black coating is also offered in aerosol.
