Rupture Disk Holder withstands corrosive conditions.

Press Release Summary:

Fluoropolymer-booted insert holder is constructed with solid PTFE resin insert pressed into inner diameter of stainless steel holder. When used with fluoropolymer lined rupture disk, only fluoropolymer is in contact with corrosive media. Available in sizes from 1-8 in., non-torque-sensitive, flat-seated holder bolts between standard ANSI pipe flanges. It is compatible with forward acting and reverse buckling disk designs, and is suitable for applications up to 500°F.

Original Press Release:

Solid Fluoropolymer Rupture Disk Holder Reliable and Cost-Effective

Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (December 14, 2004) - Aggressive corrosive materials can damage rupture disk holders, leading to premature failure which disrupts processing with increased maintenance downtime. To safeguard these processes, leading pressure relief expert, Oklahoma Safety Equipment Co., Inc. (Oseco), has developed a solid Fluoropolymer-booted insert holder, providing cost-effective protection against premature holder failure in corrosive conditions.

Oseco's Fluoropolymer-booted insert holder is constructed with a solid Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin insert pressed into the inner diameter of a stainless steel holder. When used with a Fluoropolymer lined rupture disk, only Fluoropolymer is in contact with the corrosive media, extending holder service life.

The PFTE liner is a cost-effective alternative to holders machined from expensive corrosive-resistant alloys, such as tantalum, or holders coated with the corrosive-resistant alloys. Additionally, the solid insert is not susceptible to chipping and wear as are holders with a baked coating.

The Fluoropolymer-booted insert holder bolts between standard ANSI pipe flanges. The non-torque-sensitive, flat-seated holders are available in a range of sizes from 1" to 8". Compatible with both forward acting and reverse buckling disk designs, the Fluoropolymer-booted insert holder is suitable for applications with temperatures of up to 500° F.
