One Stop Systems Introduces Rugged PCI Portable Enclosure

October 2003, Escondido, CA - - One Stop Systems announces the introduction of its PCI Portable enclosure. The new ruggedized PCI Portable enclosure is ideal for field operations requiring a lightweight, dependable platform that is easy to handle and can withstand harsh environmental conditions and still operate dependably. Large rubber bumpers on all corners absorb shocks before the case is impacted. The PCI Portable's exclusive "LCD Tilt" feature allows the operator to lift the LCD monitor to 90 degrees so the screen can be seen from a variety of directions without moving the enclosure. The 14" display is protected by non-glare glass. The 108-key keyboard/mouse touch pad latches securely to the enclosure base. Equipped with a 400-watt power supply and an 8-slot backplane, the PCI Portable can be easily equipped with any PICMG-based single board computer to make a complete PC platform. A sturdy hold-down bar retains boards in their slots. Two card cage fans blow filtered air over the boards. Two 5.25" drive bays allow room for a CDROM and removable hard drive shuttle. An additional 3.5" drive bay can house a floppy drive or other peripheral.

The PCI Portable comes equipped with an eight or nine-slot passive backplane. Customers can select one of three backplanes provided by One Stop Systems.
