I & E's Rugged, ATX Form Factor PC Shrinks Size & Cost of Industrial PC Systems


Sparta, NJ, October 24, 2002...Instruments and Equipment Co. Providing all the power and expansion capability of a desktop, and loaded with I/O and communication ports, this new form factor ATX PC measures only 12.7" x 10.6" W x 2.95". The computer, enclosed in a machined aluminum chassis and featuring shock-mounted hard drives, shock absorbing bumpers, and dual intake cooling fans, is uniquely adept for employment in varied industries when harsh environments preclude the use of conventional laptops or notebooks.

Built to power processor and memory-intensive applications when budgets and space are restricted, I & E's ATXpc-1 is suited for a wide range of manufacturing, distribution, and medical setting. The robust computer's I/O connections include: 4 USB; 1 PS/2 keyboard; 1 PS/2 mouse: 1 serial RS-232/422/485, 16C550 UARTS; 1 parallel multi-mode; and 2 firewire, IEEE-1394. Moreover, it is shipped with an Ethernet port for 10/100 LAN controller. RJ-45 connector; an IEEE 1394 interface; ports for audio in/out, and S-Video. LED indicators, for easy system status monitoring, are also featured. Unit's operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C.
