MELBOURNE, Australia -- Getac, a global manufacturer of rugged computers, is proud to announce the release of an explosion-proof tablet today. With its technological upgrades, the Getac T800 rugged tablet is ATEX Zone 2 and 22 explosion proof certified. The tablet can be used during petrochemical, pharmaceutical, oil, and gas industrial for pipeline inspections and maintenance operations. The new T800-Ex explosion-proof tablets also received the U.S. military MIL-STD-810G and IP65 certifications, and lead the industry in its waterproof, dustproof, explosion proof, and impact proof capabilities, making the tablets well-suited for tough work environments such as Australia and New Zealand. The tablets will be distributed exclusively by Synnex Australia Pty Ltd. in the Australia and New Zealand Regions.

In addition, to increase operator safety when using the T800-Ex in the presence of flammable gas and combustible dust, unplugging or plugging in devices should be avoided to prevent generating sparks. The T800-Ex's I/O ports and internet connections are wireless. The built-in 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 network cards are equipped with the exclusive 3D antenna technology that strengthens signal reception. Users can also enjoy high-speed communication and rapid data transfer through its 4G LTE support.
