New Argonics Load Zone Impact Bed Delivers Rock-Solid Performance

MARQUETTE, Mich. - (Sept. 1, 2009) - Argonics has developed a rugged, efficient and easy-to-use impact and slider bed to lower conveyor operating costs for light- and medium-duty applications.

"This is a high-performance product that extends conveyor belt life, results in fewer bar/idler replacements and requires less cleanup," says Bob Welker, Sales and Marketing Manager. "Moreover, each impact bed saves the end user valuable installation time in the field because it's engineered for CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association) B, C and D idler classes and is custom-built to a conveyor belt's width and trough angle, eliminating the need for shims in most cases."

The impact bed is manufactured with collapsible trough wings and has a tough hinge system with two ½ inch support brackets for each support leg, making installation and bar change-out fast and efficient. The impact bed's patented bars also have an energy-dispersion cavity to absorb heavy impact for unsurpassed belt protection, as well as a heavy-duty aluminum insert that will accept a standard ½ inch bolt, thus eliminating the need for expensive T-bolts.

"Each impact and slider bed is mounted to a rugged 7 gauge steel channel bar for superior support," adds Welker. "And the strength doesn't end there. Kryptane® urethane impact bars with a 3/8 inch layer of mechanically locked UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) polyethylene reduce friction to protect the conveyor belt from excessive drag and wear."

Other features of the new Argonics Load Zone Impact Bed include:

o Design that exceeds CEMA standard 575-2000

o Availability for CEMA B, C and D idler classes

o Effective sealing surface for skirting

o Maximum strength frame construction

o Patented interlocking mechanism for impact bar installation

o Durable powder coat finish

o 7-gauge steel channels

o Resilience in the harshest operating environments.
