Temex Time Delivers Industry's First $900 Rubidium Oscillator; Low-Cost Rubidium to Win New Market Applications


AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 15 - Temex Time, a Business Unit of Temex and a leading global supplier of low-cost Rubidium and high-precision timing solutions, today announced a new Ultra Low-Cost Rubidium oscillator, the LCR-900, that creates an affordable solution for mid-end positioning, test and communications applications where the price-performance ratio is an essential market decision-making factor.

The average industry price for a Rubidium product is in the $1,500 range. Temex Time has slashed that price by more than 30 percent with the introduction of its LCR-900 Rubidium oscillator in the $900 range. Until now, no vendor such as Symmetricom, Frequency Electronics, and Stanford Research Systems has offered a low-cost Rubidium product for low- to mid-end performance applications, much less a reasonably priced alternative to the high-end crystal oscillator market. Now, the price difference between a high- performance double-oven crystal oscillator and a much higher performance Rubidium solution is a ratio of less than 3 rather than 5.
