RSA Security Delivers Flexibility and Choice in Stronger Authentication for Businesses and Consumers Worldwide

Initiatives Announced at RSA Conference 2006 Extend RSA Security's Position as the Worldwide Leader in Stronger Authentication

RSA CONFERENCE, SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 14 -- RSA Security Inc. (NASDAQ:RSAS) today announced a series of new initiatives and products designed to provide organizations worldwide with the greatest flexibility and choice in implementing stronger authentication. These initiatives will enable customers to obtain the appropriate level of confidence in digital identities by offering flexible authentication solutions that can be tailored depending on the level of security needed. In addition, these efforts support RSA Security's strategic goal of helping customers reduce costs and ease deployment efforts by ensuring that RSA SecurID® technology can be leveraged across the broadest range of devices, software platforms and online services.

These announcements support RSA Security's strategy of delivering an adaptive and risk-based layered approach to authentication, which includes a continuum of options from those that are invisible to the user to more interactive authentication mechanisms. In addition, these initiatives extend RSA Security's global authentication leadership, which was further solidified through the December 2005 acquisition of Cyota.

"In today's IT security climate, organizations recognize that authentication solutions cannot be deployed in a one-size-fits-all manner because different information and identities require different degrees of security," said Art Coviello, president and CEO at RSA Security. "As the only company delivering a flexible authentication infrastructure combining risk- analytics with risk-based and segment-based authentication technologies, RSA Security is in the unique position of providing customers with a truly adaptive, layered approach to authentication."

New initiatives and solutions include:o Driving towards ubiquitous stronger authentication: In order for adaptive authentication approaches to flourish, enterprises require new levels of choice and flexibility in deploying stronger forms of online identity and data protection. In response, RSA Security today announced a significant extension of the RSA SecurID® Ready partner program, which is designed to encourage device and software manufacturers to embed the RSA SecurID algorithm within their own solutions. RSA Security is already working with several flagship partners in this effort, including Motorola, M-Systems, RedCannon Security, Renesas and SanDisk® Corporation. In addition, RSA Security also announced extended relationships with Microsoft and Research in Motion, broadening the range of devices able to serve as RSA SecurID authenticators.o Over-the-air provisioning: As part of RSA Security's effort to increase flexibility and choice in strong authentication, the Company announced a technology licensing deal with Diversinet Corp. that will enable easy, over-the-air provisioning of the RSA SecurID® two-factor authentication solution to a broad range of cell phones, PDAs and PC platforms. This offering with help businesses control costs by allowing them to leverage existing hardware devices for the mass deployment of strong authentication technology.o RSA® SecurID® Appliance 2.0: Launched in the Americas on February 6, 2006, RSA SecurID Appliance 2.0 is designed to enable large organizations to quickly and cost-effectively roll-out larger-scale strong authentication deployments. RSA SecurID Appliance 2.0 scales to 50,000 users and follows on the April 2005 launch of the RSA SecurID Appliance for small and medium-size businesses.o RSA SecurID Toolbar Token: Extending the company's range of software-based RSA SecurID Solutions, RSA Security announced the RSA SecurID Toolbar Token, which allows users to leverage a standard Web browser as a strong authentication mechanism. The new solution provides consumer-facing organizations and businesses with a cost-effective and easy-to-deploy solution for strong authentication, delivered in the familiar browser toolbar format.o RSA SecurID SID900 Transaction Signing Token: RSA Security announced a new solution that enables businesses and consumers to leverage a one-time password-based device in order to adapt to new security threats, while adding additional security to online transactions. The new RSA SecurID SID900 Transaction Signing Token provides online signing capabilities for high-value transactions that need an extra level of security, while also enabling users to leverage the device for user authentication.o Joint Initiative with Check Point Software Technologies: Together, RSA Security and Check Point Software are working to demonstrate the combined value of the companies' solutions by delivering a bundled and co-branded trial solution, which includes RSA Authentication Manager software and Check Point's Express VPN evaluation kit. The solution helps both companies demonstrate solution flexibility and provides resellers and distributors with the ability to more effectively market the solutions to joint customers and prospects.
