RPC Superfos at Scanpack 2012

RPC Superfos Region Nordic is present at Scanpack 2012 in Sweden. The company displays plastic packaging that gives logistical benefits and long shelf life.

Among the exhibitors at Scandinavia's biggest packaging fair Scanpack 2012 is RPC Superfos, one of Europe's largest manufacturers of injection moulded plastic packaging for both the food and non-food industry. The fair is on from 23 to 26 October in Gothenburg.

Get light weight and long shelf life

Packaging must provide for logistical advantages both in terms of stacking the goods and transporting them, states Sales Director Per Sollenby from RPC Superfos Region Nordic. He looks forward to sharing the solutions from RPC Superfos with the packaging community at Scanpack.

"RPC Superfos has a lot of know-how and innovative responses to the demands of fillers, end users and political decision makers. For instance, a weight reduction of up to 30 per cent compared to conventional packaging material is possible with the ultrathin, but strong pot SuperLight, particularly suited for dairy products," Per Sollenby says and continues:
"We experience an increased interest in food packaging that offers long shelf life. Our flagship here is the packaging solution SuperLock. Its unique oxygen barrier and membrane sealing ensure extremely low oxygen transmission rates. This offers many obvious advantages for the distributor and for the consumers at home. Also, long shelf life contributes to reducing food waste."

Heavy stuff needs smart packaging

For industrial goods like building materials, paint and garden products, RPC Superfos offers space efficient solutions such as the square or rectangular container SuperCube. It has a hassle-free opening, no sharp edges and is available in a metallic look.

The shape, design and decoration options must appeal to distributors and end-users alike, stresses General Sales Manager Jørgen Bitsch from RPC Superfos Region Nordic. He says:
"Functionality is pivotal, but looks count, too. Almost all packaging solutions from PC Superfos can be decorated with In-Mould Labelling, rendering a razor sharp graphic representation. SuperLift is popular in the industrial segment. It is available in an extensive range of sizes and offers outstanding decoration options. As the handle is on the collar, there is a big space for visual communication."

If you care about sustainability SuperLift is particularly interesting because it is available with recycled material injected between layers of virgin PP. This means that it lowers the carbon footprint. According to the CO2 calculations of RPC Superfos, it provides for a 7 per cent reduction.

Virtual and revolving samples on-line

RPC Superfos offers a large range of ready-made solutions and has massive experience with customised packaging, too. A range of solutions are on display at the RPC Superfos stand in Hall S01:02. Here, the company demonstrates a new on-line service. It is called TurnAvisual and makes it easier for producers, brand owners and designers to create, test and adapt new packaging designs. With a few online selections and uploads it becomes possible to see the artwork on the packaging in 3D. A revolving, virtual sample will immediately be ready for assessing and sharing online with other decision makers.

Increased possibilities with thermoforming

RPC Bebo will join the RPC Superfos Region Nordic during the exhibition and will be represented by Sales Manager Agnar Eriksen. RPC Bebo is specialised in thermoforming.

"RPC Bebo offers innovative thermoforming solutions to the food industry. These are complementary to injection moulded packaging and comprise our patented pre-printed lid Bebo Print as well as high barrier solutions for processed foods," says Agnar Eriksen.

The stand of RPC Superfos at Hall S01:02 uses the new visual identity in grey and orange reflecting the successful integration into the RPC Group.
