VRS/32 Platform Enables New Revenue-Generating Value-Added Services for Service Providers
OTTAWA, April 10 / Solace Systems today announced the general availability of the VRS/32 Value-Added Services (VAS) Routing System, the next generation in their market-leading value-added services platform. Solace's VRS/32 platform adds an additional layer of functionality to existing IP/MPLS networks and increases network intelligence by making the network content-aware. With VAS routing, service providers move beyond simple provisioning of network connections to create new application-level value- added services for enterprise and consumer customers.
Service providers are looking to expand the scope of relationships with customers beyond the network level to become trusted providers of business and consumer services. Today, most service providers shuttle bits through pipes and leave enterprise application issues to be resolved by software and services in datacenters while consumer application revenues are often captured by third parties. By deploying the VRS/32 VAS Routing System, carrier networks become on demand content networks where publishers of information are decoupled from subscribers, leaving networks to manage content and security in between. The network uses special purpose hardware within the Solace VRS/32 routers to evaluate application content and make filtering, routing and transformation decisions as shared services on behalf of all applications. The net effect is that subscribing users and systems receive interest driven real-time information from multiple sources as soon as the information is published to the network.
