Kiyon Introduces Award Winning Wireless BACnet Router at AHR Expo

Kiyon will introduce its new KAN254B Wireless BACnet router at the 2006 AHR Expo in Chicago, IL. The KAN254B was selected from among thousands of products being exhibited at AHR Expo from January 23 - 25 as this year's Innovation Award Winner in Building Automation. The KAN254B provides wireless connectivity for all types of building control systems (HVAC, lighting, safety & security, IT) plus WiFi capability all on one network.

La Jolla, CA January 18, 2006 -- Kiyon will introduce its new KAN254B Wireless BACnet router at the 2006 AHR Expo in Chicago, IL. The ASHRAE Journal, in cooperation with ASHRAE, the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) and International Exposition Company (IEC) had earlier selected it as this year's Innovation Award Winner in Building Automation from among a record number of entries representing thousands of products that will be displayed at the AHR Expo from January 23 - 25. The KAN254B provides wireless connectivity for all types of building control systems (HVAC, lighting, safety & security, IT) plus WiFi capability all on one network.

"It's a great honor to win the Innovation Award and be recognized by peers in the industry as having done something special. There's a strong trend for wireless in the building automation industry which this recognizes," said John Edler, Kiyon Vice President and General Manager, Building Systems. The KAN 254B Wireless BACnet Router is the first BACnet wireless mesh network solution in the industry and converts all standard field controllers or supervisory controllers using BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, or Ethernet IP to a wireless mesh network. The product has been tested for compatibility with the major vendors.

KAN 254B can be applied to Building Automation such as VAV's, Field Controllers, and Supervisory Controllers. It can also be used for security systems, video cameras, lighting systems, fire, and Internet applications. "Customers have applied them in many types of buildings and even to connect buildings together when running wires were prohibitive. Although it was designed to provide traditional building automation applications, we believe our creative customers will continue to come up with uses we never thought of," added Edler.

"The product submissions for this awards program continue to represent the high quality that is expected in the HVAC&R industry," said Clay Stevens, President of IEC. "We are pleased to honor and showcase these companies and products by recognizing their innovation and creativity."
