RoundTrack at LogiMAT Exhibition: STROTHMANN Presents Flow Production Solutions

Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock, Germany - STROTHMANN Machines & Handling will be an exhibitor at the LogiMAT 2013 trade show (19-21 Feb, New Stuttgart Trade Fair Center in Stuttgart, Germany). In Hall 3, at Stand 350, the company will showcase the patented RoundTrack technology which is the transport medium of choice in manufacturing and assembly applications in all kinds of industries. The system enables efficient, ergonomic, and eco-friendly intralogistics solutions, especially for transporting heavy loads. Protruding only a few millimeters from the ground, the tracks vanish in the hall floor without posing a tripping hazard. Forklifts and rolling shelves can therefore easily pass over them. The track wheels are optimized for minimal rolling friction. The components are manufactured from ultra-hard materials using high-end manufacturing technologies. A single person can manually shift loads of up to 10 t on RoundTracks. At the LogiMAT exhibition, STROTHMANN presents a new junction, the latest generation of the quadro turnstile with a pneumatic drive. Furthermore, a trolley with wireless inductive power supply will be showcased.

The RoundTrack system comprises a range of drive technologies, crossing elements, index pins, leveling platforms, and carriages ranging from simple rolling carts to ergonomic height-adjustable trolleys. These are used as workstations, e.g. in the assembly of precision measuring centers and sliding table saws where the STROTHMANN solution has enabled the transfer to flow production. A manufacturer of street cleaning vehicles transports the vehicle bodies to the welding center and into the shot peening facility on tailored trolleys - the extensive track network enables the direct hand-over of the parts from the transport carts to these facilities.
