MILITARY SWITCHES WITHSTAND SHOCK, VIBRATION

WEYMOUTH, MA - Electroswitch introduces its complete line of heavy-duty rotary switches for military applications. The wide variety and modular design of these detent- and snap-action switches permit millions of specialized configurations. Available in a large selection of electrical ratings, all models comply with pertinent military specifications for high-shock, high-vibration environments.

Electroswitch Detent-Action Rotary Multipole and Selector Switches for the military satisfy a multitude of complex switching applications. These versatile switches permit multiple decks in a single switch, and each deck can contain multiple contacts. Standard models are available with up to 25 sections, up to 75 poles, and up to 16 positions. Typical Instrument and Control Switch configurations include Circuit Breaker Control Switches, Tap Switches (with up to seven throws), Voltmeter Transfer Switches, Ammeter Transfer Switches, Wattmeter Transfer Switches, Synchronizing Switches, and Motor Control Switches. Detent-Action Rotary Multipole and Selector Switches provide maintenance-free operation because their contacts operate on the reliable principle of knife-switches, with double-sided, double-wiping, self-cleaning, spring-wiper blades closing on both sides of a terminal. This design is shockproof and virtually bounce-proof.

Electroswitch Snap-Action Switches for the military have quick make and break action (approx. 10 milliseconds contact transfer time), making them excellent for DC as well as AC switching. Standard models are available with up to 12 poles and up to 4 positions. Switching speed does not vary with operator action. The ends of the stationary contacts extend outside the insulating disks to serve as connecting terminals, minimizing resistance and heating. Snap-Action Switches have double-wiping contacts for low resistance, even under conditions of extreme shock or vibration.

Electroswitch military switches have fully enclosed decks, and sturdy glass alkyd moldings provide tight, insulated compartments that separate one contact assembly from another. Depending on the model chosen, options include spring-return, silver-plated, or make-before-break (shorting) contacts; motor-driven, ganged, solenoid-locked, or tandem configurations; waterproof-mounts; nameplates; nameplate engravings; and shank, knurled, flush, pistol-grip, key-locking, pull-to-lock, or push-to-turn handles.

Electroswitch is the industry leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of tough, reliable switches, relays, and other electrical systems products for utility, industrial, and military environments. The Electroswitch line of standard products is complemented by the company's proven ability and willingness to modify, custom design, and test their switches and relays for virtually any application. The company takes pride in meeting customer delivery requirements, no matter how stringent.
