NKK Switches Announces Process Sealed MR Series
Logic Level Rotary Switches Deliver High Contact Reliability
Scottsdale, Ariz. (January 10, 2006) - NKK Switches, along with its network of authorized distributors, is proud to present its portfolio of half-inch diameter, process sealed, logic level rotary switches.
The MR series is available in single, double and four-pole models and includes unique characteristics and options. The switches feature a positive detent mechanism for distinct feel and audible feedback as well as self-cleaning contact mechanisms, which deliver high contact reliability. Contact timing is break-before-make and is achieved with sliding contacts in the MRA model and with a rotary contactor disc in the MRF and MRK versions. All models have molded in PC terminals and are process sealed for automated soldering. Adjustable stopper plates allow two to 12 position settings dependent on the number of poles. Mechanical life is 30,000 operations minimum and electrical life is 10,000 operations minimum. Indexing is 30 degrees.
The MRA and MRK panel mount options have metal bushings in addition to exterior rubber washers and double-flatted bushings to deliver protection in splashproof applications. An interior housing seal and a shaft rubber o-ring allow the switch to be cleaned after automated soldering. Behind panel body depths range from .323" to .669" (8.2mm to 17.0mm). The MRA is rated 250mA @ 125V AC or 48V DC. The MRF is rated 0.4VA maximum @ 28V AC/DC maximum. Accessories include three different style knobs with various color tips.
The MRF version is a low profile, screwdriver actuated option that accommodates space limitations. This device has a polyamide cover to allow cleaning after automated soldering. It is rated 0.4VA maximum @ 28V AC/DC maximum.
