Original Press Release:

New Product-Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Rotary Screw Air Compressors

Sullivan-Palatek, Michigan City. Indiana, manufacturer of industrial electric-driven rotary screw air compressors, introduces their new (VFD) Variable Frequency Drive control system. The drive control system continuously conserves energy and lowers utility costs during operation. The VFD eliminates high in-rush current and subsequently lowers peak power costs associated with conventional controls. The VFD drive may provide additional savings with rebates from the power company.

Variable Frequency Drive is available on inline models 15 through 50H.P. and updraft models 50 through 300H.P. The drive control provides consistent capacity regulation from 25% through 100% quick speed response. The Variable Frequency Drive drastically reduces starting current. It maintains consistent pressure supply and matches CFM demand to plant air system requirements.

Our new Variable Frequency Drive brochure features an "Efficiency vs Delivered Air" chart showing how, at 70% capacity, it consumes 25% less power than a standard compressor operating with on-off control. A "Cost Savings With Time In Use" chart shows multiple operation shifts with 95% pay back in less than 5 years of service.
