Smaller Size Rotary Potentiometer Features 6" Lead Wires for Termination

Grass Valley, CA -September 1, 2006 - Spectrum Sensors & Controls introduces a 0.500" diameter servo mount rotary potentiometer that provides excellent output smoothness and longer life in a smaller package. This new rotary potentiometer has a minimum proven rotational life of 50 million cycles and is designed for small space locations which require angular precision position feedback like medical, military, and industrial robotics sensors applications.

Spectrum's new potentiometer has 6" AWG lead wires to better facilitate installation and features 0.1% max. output smoothness. It also is available with terminals located out the back and various connector configurations. The unit provides an electrical angle of 340° +/- 1°, independent linearity of +/- 0.5%, and also is available with various electrical angles and absolute linearity. The servo mount sensor has an anodized aluminum housing and uses a passivated stainless steel shaft.

Spectrum's rotary potentiometers utilize a co-molded conductive plastic element for a hard smooth surface and greater long term reliability compared to raised circuit element potentiometers. In Spectrum's process the termination and resistance materials are simultaneously molded with the base substrate.

Spectrum Sensors & Controls new 0.500" rotary potentiometer with 6" lead wires is priced at $85 and up, depending on quantities and configurations.
