Rotary Position Sensors offer 12-bit resolution.

Press Release Summary:

Non-contact Series RSC3700 provides 360° absolute angle measurements, which are referred to mechanical index point, providing retention of position in event of power failure. Output interfaces include 4-20 mA, 0-10 V, or 0.5-4.5 V analog as well as digital PWM. Sensors can be set to generate up to 2 digital trigger signals that may be used to control mechanical processes or signal specific events. Units come in stainless steel case, sealed to IP67.

Smart Non-Contact Rotary Position Sensor

Southborough, MA - The new RSC3700 family of non-contacting rotary sensors provides 360° absolute angle measurements with 12-bit resolution. Measurements are referred to a mechanical index point, providing retention of position in the event of power failures.

A microprocessor incorporated into the sensor enables a custom output characteristic curve to be preprogrammed for a specific application. Output interfaces include 4 to 20mA, 0 to 10V or 0.5 to 4.5V analog as well as digital pulse-width modulated-PWM.
Key specifications include resolution to ± 0.09°, absolute linearity of ±0.1%, repeatability of <0.15% and sample rate up to 1,000 Hz.

Additionally, RSC3700 sensors can be set to generate up to two digital "trigger" signals that may be used to control mechanical processes or signal specific events. Taken together, linearization programmability, position and control output features can eliminate signal conditioning and control logic circuitry in many applications. The sensor can serve as an encoder in applications that require a customizable solution.
Measuring 1.44" (36.5 mm) in diameter and 1.81" (46 mm) in depth, Novotechnik RSC3700 sensors feature a rugged stainless steel case, sealed to IP 67, designed to withstand high EMC levels (30 V/m) and operate in temperatures from -40 to +85°C. A 10 mm shaft is standard and a 3/8" shaft is available.
