New 1-1/8" SDS Rotary Hammers

Milwaukee's Compact 1-1/8" Rotary Hammers - Models 5359-21 and 5360-21- Feature 7.4 Amp Motor, Hammer-Only Mode

Brookfield, WI (January 2002) - Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation announces two new powerful, compact 1-1/8" SDS Rotary Hammers, models 5359-21 and 5360-21. With a powerful 7.4 Amp motor, the hammers are ideal for contractors, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cable and shutter installers, maintenance personnel, and remodelers.

These well-balanced rotary hammers are really three tools in one: a drill, a hammer with drill, and a chisel. Three operating modes - hammer-with-rotation; rotation-only; and hammer-only - mean users have a variety of application options with this tool. The hammer-with-rotation mode lets the tool quickly drill small diameter holes into concrete or masonry. The rotation-only mode turns off the tool's hammering action for drilling in wood, metal, or plastic. And the hammer-only mode is useful for light chipping and chiseling.

The models are identical except model 5359-21 is a 3-wire grounded tool, while model 5360-21 is double insulated; and model 5360-21 also includes a removable SDS bit holder. Both models excel at boring large, long holes with the use of 3/8-inch to 3/4-inch bits. Some common applications of the tool include: anchoring holes in concrete; setting Tapcon style fasteners; drilling holes for wire, tubing, small pipe and conduit in concrete walls and floors; small diameter core drilling applications; installing fasteners; and drilling through wood, plastic, composites and metal.

With 0-980 RPM and 0-4,200 BPM, the rotary hammers deliver more blows per minute, compared to competitive compact rotary hammers.

The tools are ergonomically designed with a cushion grip and an auxiliary handle that can be positioned for optimum comfort and control.

In addition, Milwaukee's new Rotary Hammers come with a variable speed switch that lets users easily start holes, a depth gauge that can be set to repeat specific depths, and a large, heavy duty, impact resistant carrying case.

The Rotary Hammers are backed by Milwaukee's limited warranty and Service Plus Program, providing one year of free maintenance when shipped to a Milwaukee Branch Office/Service Center.
