Rotary Engraving System offers incresed resolution via firmware.

Press Release Summary:

Viper® systems are available with Nano-Xen controller firmware technology that drives stepper motors in finer, smoother rotation while creating higher resolution and less vibration. Typical drive configurations require 3,200 step pulses to rotate stepper motor one complete revolution, and Nano-Xen technology uses 12,800 pulses for one rotation. This minimizes noise and enhances output quality while maintaining system's rated engraving speed.

New Xenetech "Nano-Xen" Viper® Controller Firmware Further Increases Engraving Resolution (4X), Reduces Operating Noise, and Maintains High Engraving Speeds

Baton Rouge, La. – Xenetech Global, a leading manufacturer of laser and mechanical engraving and cutting systems, has developed new firmware for its rotary engraving system Viper® controller that significantly increases stepper motor resolution with less resonance.  Know as “Nano-Xen” technology, the new firmware will drive Xenetech rotary systems at its current industry leading engraving speed, but with less noise and greater output quality.

The Nano-Xen technology drives stepper motors in a finer, smoother rotation creating higher resolution and less vibration.  Typical drive configurations require 3,200 step pulses to rotate the stepper motor one complete revolution.  The new technology uses 12,800 pulses for one rotation.  This increase translates into four times the resolution of current system.

As an example, Xenetech Gift Engraver the Viper® GE currently has an output resolution of 0.001875.  With the new Nano-Xen firmware, the GE output resolution increases to 0.00046875.

Xenetech Vice President for R&D, John Lundberg, is responsible for this breakthrough. “We are constantly working on ways our customers can increase productivity and quality and this new firmware achieves both, with noise reduction as an added benefit” stated Lundberg. “Xenetech Viper® owners can install and begin using this immediately, smoothly transitioning their engraving to realize even more efficiency, quality, and resulting profitability.”

Xenetech develops and manufactures a full line of computerized rotary engraving  systems, laser engraving systems, and professional engraving software for the recognition, sign, rubber stamp, jewelry, gift, and industrial marking industries.  Established in 1986, the company is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and maintains a global distribution network.    For more information about the new color touch screen or Xenetech’s family of engraving products, browse their website at www.xenetech.com or call them at 225-752-0225.
