Press Release Summary:
Based on application of reactive multiple-part urethanes directly onto rotating roll core, rotary casting eliminates need for poured molds and secondary curing process. Process creates solid roll cover within minutes, and rolls can be delivered in days. Hardness and uniformity are held consistently across roll to within +3 ShA points or better for optimal mechanical properties. Roll sizes can be produced from 6-71 in. dia and up to 472 in. long.

FKM-USA Offers Polyurethane Roll Production New Rotary Casting Can Produce 70" x 472" Rolls in Less Time with No Molds
Frankfort, Ill., June 19, 2008 --- FKM-USA's new rotary casting process creates a solid roll cover in a manner of minutes. Based upon the application of highly reactive multiple-part urethanes directly onto a rotating roll core, rotary casting eliminates the need for conventional poured molds and a secondary curing process. Rolls are delivered in days instead of weeks or months. Additionally, hardness and uniformity are held consistently across the roll to within + 3 ShA points or better to produce a roll with superior mechanical properties. Roll sizes can be produced from 152 to 1800mm (6 - 71") diameter and up to 12,000mm (472") in length, making it well-suited for a variety of industries.
