Slater Tools to Display 0700 Series Broach Holder at WESTEC

Clinton Township, MI - January 14th, 2009

Slater Tools Inc. will be displaying their new 0700 series Swiss Type Adjustment Free Rotary Broaching Tool Holders at the 2009 WESTEC Advanced Productivity Exposition in Los Angeles, California. Released in 2008, the 0700 series tool holders are used for producing hexagon and square holes in metal parts while eliminating secondary operations. This technique has long been known to screw machine operators, but has continued to be adapted for Swiss type CNC machines and machining centers. Swiss type tools are important in the aerospace and medical industries, making orthopedic bone screws and small fastener products.

The 0700 series tool holders are now available from stock with 5/8", 3/4", 16mm and 22mm shanks. Adjustment free rotary broaching tool holders save time and ease machine set-up. The .500" tool bore in the spindle accepts Slater's standard length hex, square, and six lobe rotary broaches. The new tool holders and broaches are listed in Slater's online catalog and are available for immediate delivery. Special form broaches with serration, spline, involute spline, and polygon shapes can also be made for the 0700 tool holder.
