Romaco at PACK EXPO 2013 Flexible Packaging and Processing

Versatile packaging and processing technologies from Unipac, Promatic and FrymaKoruma will be on show at this year's PACK EXPO in Las Vegas (USA).

Unipac U 2060 tube filling machine

The Romaco Unipac U 2060 automatic tube filler has an enclosed design that meets ergonomic requirements. With its compact structure and a footprint of less than one and a half square metres, the unit is easy to access and extremely versatile. Equipped with eight stations, the technology is ideal for filling semi-solids such as ointments, creams, gels and pastes on behalf of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. The products are filled into aluminium, laminate or polyethylene tubes, which are closed either mechanically by means of a series of folds or in a heat-sealing or hot air process. This robust machine has a maximum output of 60 tubes per minute and is intended for small-to-medium sized batches.

FrymaKoruma MZ toothed colloid mill

The toothed colloid mills in the FrymaKoruma MZ series are especially suitable for wet grinding foods as well as pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical applications. The milling system is perfect, for example, for producing soy milk, fruit juices, tablet coatings, make-up and agrochemicals. Coarse, standard and cross-toothed tools grind each product – from liquids to highly viscous suspensions and emulsions – to exactly the right particle size. The axial milling gap between the rotor and stator can be infinitely adjusted. The toothed colloid mill achieves particle sizes of 0.5 to 0.1 millimetres and a throughput of between 4000 and 40,000 litres an hour depending on the product type. The conical milling space prevents residues from the production process from accumulating inside. The engineers responsible for designing the mill paid particular attention to eliminating all dead spaces such as gaps, corners or slots from the interior. The FrymaKoruma MZ is shipped either as an open hopper milling system or as an in-line model.

FrymaKoruma MaxxD Lab vacuum processing unit

Food manufacturers use the FrymaKoruma MaxxD Lab vacuum processing unit mainly to produce very small test batches. The unit processes liquid and semi-solid forms with the help of efficient homogenizing technology to obtain stable emulsions and suspensions. The MaxxD Lab is the solution of choice for manufacturing mayonnaise, ketchup, sauces, dressings, spreads and chocolate masses. In the lab scale version, the vacuum processing unit has a usable volume of between three and twelve litres. FrymaKoruma offers reliable scale-ups for all formulations: precisely defined processes and finely scalable parameters form the basis for repeatable results and premium product quality. The MaxxD technology allows significantly shorter batch cycles thanks to the special geometry of the vessel and the process tool.

The Unipac U 2060, FrymaKoruma MZ and FrymaKoruma MaxxD Lab will be on show at the PACK EXPO exhibition in Las Vegas (USA) from September 23 to 25, 2013, where they can be seen at the Romaco Inc. booth (Stand 7213).

Promatic P 91 intermittent motion cartoner

Romaco will show the Promatic P 91 intermittent motion cartoner at the MG America booth. With its cGMP compliant design and balcony structure, the Promatic cartoner is optimally accessible and simple to clean. Quick and reproducible format changes also mean less downtime. Servo-controlled systems like the patented carton pick-up with its positive opening system boost the productivity of the Promatic P 91 and improve the quality of the end product. With a maximum output of 100 cartons a minute, this cartoner is the ideal final packaging solution for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and foods. A wide range of product-specific feed units is available, enabling the cartoner to be optimally adapted to individual customer requirements. Driven by toothed belts and pulleys, this machine completely eliminates all chains and mechanical gears. Operators particularly appreciate the Promatic P 91’s dramatic reduction in noise, maintenance and cleaning.

The Promatic P 91 will be on show at the PACK EXPO exhibition in Las Vegas (USA) from September 23 to 25, 2013, where it can be seen at the MG America booth (Stand 4722).
