Romaco at FachPack 2013

Primary and secondary packaging solutions from Noack, Promatic and Bosspak will be on show at this year's FachPack in Nuremberg (Germany).

Noack DPN 760 blister packaging machine

The proven Noack DPN 760 blister packaging machine has undergone continuous further development in Romaco's R&D department. The newest generation of this best-selling equipment can optionally be supplied with a special high-tech feed unit that assures safe handling of products which are otherwise difficult to feed. The system is suitable for multiple blisters or products that get easily jammed owing to their specifications. Up to four chambers are provided to feed the products automatically. Amongst other items, this user friendly machine blisters pharmaceutical solids, ampoules, medical devices and liquids highly reliably with a maximum forming depth of 25 millimetres. With a length of not quite three metres, the Noack DPN 760 also has a very small footprint. The integrated servo motor guarantees uniform foil indexing and optimal feeding. Small format sets with lightweight tools and format parameters that are stored electronically speed up product changes considerably. When small batch sizes or test batches need to be produced at low-to-medium speeds, the machine provides an ideal solution by achieving a maximum output of 200 blisters a minute. This ability is particularly valued by contract packagers although multinational corporations and entry-level users have also trusted in the Noack DPN 760 as an all-round solution for the past thirty-five years.

Promatic P 91S intermittent motion cartoner

With a maximum output of 140 cartons a minute, the Promatic P 91S intermittent motion cartoner matches the high performance of continuous machines. Thanks to its cGMP compliant design and balcony structure, this high-speed Romaco cartoner is optimally accessible and simple to clean. Quick and reproducible format changes also mean less downtime. Servo-controlled systems like the patented carton pick-up with its positive opening system boost the productivity of the Promatic P 91S and improve the quality of the end product. A wide range of product-specific feed units are available, enabling the cartoner to be optimally adapted to individual customer requirements. Driven by toothed belts and pulleys, this machine completely eliminates all chains and mechanical gears. Operators particularly appreciate the Promatic P 91S' dramatic reduction in noise, maintenance and cleaning.

Bosspak VTC 100 tablet and capsule counter

The Bosspak VTC 100 electronic tablet and capsule counter represents Romaco's newest technology for filling pharmaceutical solids or food supplements into bottles at high speed. The machine works completely independently of particular formats, allowing the product and packaging to be changed extremely fast. The tablets, caplets or gelatine capsules are fed to the counting stations by means of vibratory feed trays. The vibration intensity can be precisely adjusted on the ergonomic HMI panel. The products thus pass the twelve counting stations, where they are scanned by infrared sensors at a rate of 34,000 per second with incredibly accurate results. The new sensor generation features built-in microprocessors, which adjust the count trigger point automatically during production. Dust, humidity and heat, which are otherwise liable to disrupt the process, are compensated in this way. Time-consuming calibration of the counting stations is now a thing of the past.

The intelligent counting systems of the Bosspak VTC 100 control the product filling process into plastic or glass bottles. The complete count is collected in a so-called trap box and the bulk then discharged into the waiting bottles through funnels. The Bosspak VTC 100's unique pre-dosing system improves both the counting accuracy and the filling speed. While one bulk is being filled into bottles, the next products in line are collected on special ledges without interrupting the counting process. The machine counts a maximum of 100 bottles a minute and can be installed either as a standalone unit or integrated in a line.

The Romaco technologies will be on show at the FachPack exhibition in Nuremberg (Germany) from September 24 to 26, 2013 (Hall 4A, Stand 4A-525).
