New POP Steel Multi-Grip Rivets Replace up to Three Different Rivet Sizes with a Single Rivet.
Designed specifically for applications where the same rivet body size is specified but multiple grip ranges are required.
SHELTON, Conn., (June 7, 2006) - Emhart Teknologies today introduced its latest cost-saving innovation in rivet technology, the new POP® Steel Multi-Grip(TM). The steel Multi-Grip(TM) rivet product complements Emhart's existing aluminum Multi-Grip(TM) rivet line. Together these two product lines provide users with a complete fastening solution for applications where material thicknesses may vary.
Steel Multi-Grip(TM) rivets automatically adjust their grip range during setting allowing them to accommodate a wider range of variation in material thicknesses. Typically a single Steel Multi-Grip(TM) Rivet will enable users to replace up to three different rivets, reducing their ordering and inventory expense. On the production line, the use of a single Steel Multi-Grip(TM) Rivet will simplify assembly operations and save time, providing additional savings.
Fabricated using a unique forming process, Steel Multi-Grip(TM) Rivets feature a series of elliptical impressions in the rivet body. These impressions ensure a consistent compression of the rivet body during setting and enable the rivet to automatically adjust to varying material thicknesses, providing a consistent, high-quality fastening solution. During setting the rivet body also expands to completely fill irregular or oversized holes for a tighter, rattle-free seam with significantly improved weather resistance.
Steel Multi-Grip(TM) Rivets are available in diameters ranging from 1/8" (3.2mm) to 3/16" (4.8mm), in both domed head and large flange configurations. All configurations are RoHS compliant and meet ISO, QS and TS standards.
