New High Capacity 3U PXI 'Smart' Chassis
Nineteen slot chassis offers advanced cooling design, remote status monitoring, and flexible rack-mounting
SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 8 /- ADLINK Technology Inc. (TAIEX: 6166) is pleased to introduce a new RoHS-compliant 3U 19-slot PXI chassis, the PXIS-2719. This industry-first 19-slot PXI chassis provides one system controller slot, eighteen peripheral card slots, an innovative high-performance cooling design, and smart chassis management. This rack mount capable chassis is ideal for high capacity bench-top and rack-mount test and measurement applications.
The ADLINK PXIS-2719 features an innovative cooling design for even and efficient heat dissipation. The chassis provides uniform air flow for each slot with a maximum 10 percent difference in temperature measured on load boards during testing. The fans pull cool air in from the bottom of the chassis, though the PXI modules and then exhausts out the rear. This air flow design is ideal for rack mount installations by significantly minimizing hot air draw from the rear of the rack where all other devices typically exhaust. This design helps maintain a steady temperature inside the chassis. The PXIS-2719 also includes smart chassis management. Fan speed is controlled either automatically based on the internal temperature or manually through user input. Chassis temperature, fan speed, and system voltages are continually self-monitored to ensure system stability. The PXIS-2719 also supports remote management by providing chassis status through a standard RS-232 port connection. Remote power on/off control through this port is also provided.
An optional rack-mount kit is also available. This innovative kit allows the chassis to be recessed up to 10 cm in a cabinet rack to accommodate multiple wires/connectors or mass interconnect modules.
For high performance measurement systems, ADLINK recommends its new PXI-3950 Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo embedded controller. The PXI-3950 is designed for hybrid testing systems and provides integrated Dual GbE/GPIB/USB support, a 120 GB SATA HDD, and 4GB DDR2 memory. Taking advantage of the latest Intel GME965 chipset and T7500 2.2 GHz CPU, the PXI-3950 offers unprecedented performance.
