Rockwell Automation to Feature Solutions for Optimizing Mining Operations at MINExpo International 2016

Featured “Connected Mine” technology to illustrate mobility and networking solutions to connect people, processes and technology

MILWAUKEE — Rockwell Automation will showcase solutions and services designed to help mining companies improve business performance, increase yield and reduce safety risks at MINExpo International 2016 in Las Vegas, Sept. 26 to 28. At Booth 723 in the North Hall, the company will show how to capture real-time process information to help make better business decisions, by accessing and collecting data from controllers, smart devices and software within the mining operation.

Referred to as the “Connected Mine,” this approach helps mining companies across the globe to maximize yield and improve operating efficiencies while still meeting regulatory requirements and maintaining safe working environments. Operators benefit from increased operational flexibility, using data to make critical adjustments to their process – anywhere from extraction to processing.

In Booth 723, Rockwell Automation will offer a mining solutions demo, featuring a control room to illustrate how mining companies can harness the power of connected systems to significantly transform their operations. The demo shows how using a single, unified network infrastructure allows for seamless connectivity and information sharing across the mining enterprise.

Representatives will be available at the Rockwell Automation booth to address any questions or unique challenges, and to discuss topics, such as:

Modernizing and standardizing control equipment and software for system interoperability across the entire mining enterprise, and consistent performance measurement across sites.

Integrating production intelligence software to obtain a holistic view of plant conditions and operational data, providing context and greater visibility to information about mining equipment, raw materials and people.

Using predictive control software to help operators maximize equipment operability, helping to increase throughput and quality, as well as reduce variability and emissions.

Integrating a sound security approach across mining operations through a defense-in-depth security practice that offers multiple layers of protection using physical, electronic and procedural safeguards.
