NKK Switches Announces New Rocker Switch

CWT series offers affordability, versatility and unique design

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Dec. 11, 2002) - NKK Switches continues to expand its switch offerings with the compact CWT series of molded rocker switches. Designed for use in applications requiring a power-rated, cost-effective solution, these versatile rockers offer an attractive and compact shape.

Meeting the needs of engineers faced with limited space, the CWT series measures .756 inches X .269 inches or 19.2mm X 6.8mm. The black actuator and housing add to the aesthetic value and innovative design.

Available in a single pole, double throw configuration, the CWT series is a two position, ON-ON rocker switch rated for a resistive load of 6A @ 125V AC, 3A @ 250V AC and 4A @ 30V DC. The rocker's angle of throw is 30 degrees.

Able to accommodate one or two solid 18-gauge wire or stranded 20-gauge wire, the CWT rocker's solder lug terminals have a hole dimension of .043 inches X .079 inches. Recommended panel thickness is .030 inches to .079 inches or 0.75mm to 2.0mm.

In addition, the CWT series' dielectric strength is rated at 1,000V AC minimum between contacts, and 1,500V AC minimum between contacts and case. Insulation resistance is one gigohm minimum @ 500V DC.

The see saw contact mechanism gives the CWT series a mechanical life rating of 50,000 operations minimum and an electrical life rating of 25,000 operations minimum. The nominal operating force is 204 grams.

Protecting the contact area, the versatile CWT snap-in, molded rocker features dust-proof construction, which makes it suitable for any type of environment. Through efficient installation, the front panel, snap-in design saves time and laboring costs.

The CWT models are UL recognized and CSA certified. The markings are standard on the case.
