New Robotic AX Case Packer to be Unveiled at PackExpo 2008

Bradman Lake Inc., Charlotte, North Carolina will debut the first model of its newly designed range of robotic case packing machines at the forthcoming PackExpo Show at booth number S-1248.

Culminating 12 months of design work, the new robotic AX Case Packer is designed to automatically form, top load fill and close RSC and HSC style corrugated cases within one frame. It possesses a very compact footprint and eliminates the requirement for three separate machines and the floor space they typically occupy. Carton in case format can be varied to the customer specification by utilization of a modular infeed design.

The AX Case Packer incorporates advanced design electronic motion control technology using a combination of robotics and servo motor drives. This compact unit will form the case, load the cartons/products into the case and bottom/top seal it at speeds up to 120 cartons per minute and up to 12 cases per minute, depending upon the shape and size of the products involved, tape or glue or a combination of both can be provided for case sealing.

The MX Case Packer will unveiled later in the year. This machine will have the capability of handling up to 240 cartons and up to 20 cases per minute dependent upon carton and case configuration.

For the Bradman Lake Group, the introduction of the AX Case Packer represents the first tangible sign of the new product innovation following its acquisition by Langley Holdings plc in October, 2007. Further impetus has been provided by an early order for three of these machines to be delivered in the fall.

Bradman Lake will demonstrate the AX Robotic Case Packer integrated as a part of a working fully automatic top load packaging system comprisng of: Automatic Product Distribution System; Flowtronic 120 high speed flow wrapping machine fitted with a Bar Turner and Shuttle Phase in-feed conveyor; Super HS Double Head Glue Former; LJ-DRT Robotic Product Loading; and, a Compact 3 Right Angle Carton Closer. The wrapping system illustrates the new policy of manufacturing the Autowrappers Flowtronic range of wrappers in the Charlotte, NC, factory. This increases their competiveness for these wrapping systems in the North and South American markets.

Once again, the Bradman Lake Group proves that its strength lies within the diversity of the product range spanning fully automatic flow wrapping systems, carton forming and closing machines, robotic product top-loaders and robotic case packers. The considerable technical and sales knowledge residing in the Group means that it can design, produce and install completely integrated packaging systems that can meet the most exacting challenges of today's manufacturing environments.
