Protiviti's New Multilingual Governance Portal Enables Uniform GRC Strategy for Multinational Companies

Complete, easy-to-use GRC solution offers a multilingual interface enabling more effective risk management across today's global enterprises

MENLO PARK, Calif. - Protiviti Inc. (www.protiviti.com), a global business consulting and internal audit firm, today announced the release of the latest version of its Governance Portal, enhancing multilingual capabilities that facilitate execution of a uniform governance, risk and compliance (GRC) strategy across multinational companies. The updated Governance Portal also offers advanced scheduling and simplified reporting. These key new features allow customers to effectively allocate resources and improve their operational efficiency while providing meaningful, consolidated information for management's decision making - features that reinforce the Governance Portal's reputation as a complete, easy-to-use software solution for GRC.

While individual language translations have been available in previous versions of the Governance Portal for some time, this latest release immediately lets users access the same Governance Portal instance in their local language, ensuring uniform communication and consolidated reporting across an international user community. Currently supported languages include Dutch, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. In addition, the Governance Portal now offers a simplified translation capability that enables Protiviti to quickly add additional languages or business terms.

"The importance of integrated risk management will increase as companies begin applying IFRS in the future," said Akira Kato, executive officer and division manager of IT Solution Services Business Div., TIS Inc. "With Protiviti's domain expertise and our IT systems development and operations know-how, a multilingual version of the Governance Portal provides extremely effective risk management for manufacturing companies and other organizations that have overseas businesses and communicate in multiple languages."

In addition to helping to establish a uniform GRC strategy, a single instance of the Governance Portal for multiple languages delivers benefits across the entire organization:

- All users become more productive because they can work in their native
language without the risk of encountering inconsistencies between
different versions of the system.

- IT benefits from significantly reduced hardware requirements and
software maintenance activities, such as reduced uptime health checks,
upgrades, and system updates.

- System administrators benefit from streamlined communications across
the user community.

- Project managers find it easier to consolidate data across geographic
locations for executive reporting.

Additional Features

The Governance Portal now offers advanced scheduling making it easy for clients to create the audit plan, establish budgeted hours and expenses, and assign auditors based on their availability. These capabilities are provided through an easy-to-use interface that consolidates all of this information into a single calendar view that highlights over or under allocated audits. Consistent with the theme to provide clients with a single internationalized platform, the feature also allows for definition of different work days and weeks, so that potential scheduling conflicts can be easily identified based on individual work arrangements and regional settings, thereby increasing productivity.

The latest version of the Governance Portal also extends its reach into the GRC ecosystem, introducing simplified reporting views that enable clients to leverage their existing data warehousing tools and combine results from third-party ERP systems in order to consolidate GRC and create performance dashboards.

"Protiviti continues to respond quickly to the evolving requirements of our clients as we drive enterprise-wide GRC efforts, making management and reporting much more consistent and efficient as well as easier to accomplish," said Scott Gracyalny, managing director and global lead of Protiviti's Risk Technologies group. "With the latest version of the Governance Portal, our multinational clients, who represent a significant and growing percentage of our client base, receive multilingual GRC technology and global support from Protiviti offices strategically based across 16 countries."

The Governance Portal is an industry-leading enterprise governance, risk and compliance (EGRC) software platform that allows organizations to address multiple GRC objectives. A recipient of various industry accolades, the Governance Portal integrates Protiviti's proprietary content and consulting expertise with commonly accepted governance frameworks to establish a comprehensive platform that gives organizations the visibility and insight they need to manage and mitigate critical risk and compliance issues. The Governance Portal for Internal Audit enables organizations to automate the audit process from risk assessment through reporting; identify and assess risks through integrated surveys to simplify the feedback process; tie risks to key processes and organizations that feed the audit planning process; and easily integrate internal auditing into the GRC program.
