Orenco® Launches New Damage-Resistant DuraFiber(TM) Lid

SUTHERLIN, ORE. — Orenco Systems®, Inc., a manufacturer of leading-edge wastewater products, has designed and launched its new damage-resistant DuraFiberTM Lid. The DuraFiber Lid is made of resin-infused fiberglass for extreme durability and breaking strengths in excess of 20,000 pounds. It fits most ribbed PVC and HDPE riser pipe and weighs only 11 pounds.

“The DuraFiber lid represents the most significant improvement in fiberglass access lids since 1988,” says Eric Ball, Orenco’s VP of Product Development. “It’s the strongest and toughest non-traffic-rated lid we’ve ever tested.”

Additional benefits of the DuraFiber Lid include a flat-style flange, allowing flush-to-grade installation; a cored centering ring, providing an easily aligned, snug fit; and a urethane gasket to help ensure a watertight seal. Lids include four 5/16" stainless steel flathead screws and a hex wrench. Optional insulation (2" or 4") is available, which can be pre-installed at the factory or installed onsite with a hardware kit.

Available in 24-inch and 30-inch diameters, DuraFiber Lids also have a non-skid surface with customizable center insert (for logos, etc.), along with a molded-in “Caution” statement. In addition to the standard green color, they come in three landscape patterns – grass, river rock, and bark – to blend into their surroundings.

This revolutionary new lid has undergone two years of research and development. It replaces Orenco’s current fiberglass lid, which was originally developed in the mid-1980's, around the time that Orenco built its first resin transfer molding shop.

Based in Oregon, Orenco designs and manufactures leading-edge equipment for onsite and decentralized wastewater systems. Products include watertight tanks; pumping and filtration systems; secondary treatment systems (including AdvanTex® filters); community collection systems; standard and custom controls, and controls shelters. Founded in 1981, Orenco employs approximately 300 people and sells from about 300 points of distribution throughout the world.
