ToughGard(TM) Rigid Liner Board Liner for Large Ducts And Plenums

CertainTeed ToughGard(TM) Rigid Liner Board is used primarily as an acoustical liner in large sheet metal ducts, plenums, and equipment housing that supply conditioned air. The rigid thermal and acoustical board, featuring the ToughGard(TM) tougher, smoother, more damage-resistant composite airstream surface, also includes the surface coating the repels moisture. ToughGard Rigid Liner Board is composed of rotary-glass fibers bonded together with a thermosetting resin. The black nonwoven mat bonded to the airstream surface adds strength to the product and holds up to higher air velocities without fiber erosion, while improving system efficiency. The mat surface serves also as a barrier against the infiltration of dust and dirt into the insulation. The air stream surface contains an EPA-registered antimicrobial agent in order to reduce the potential of microbial growth that may affect this product. The antimicrobial properties are intended to only protect this product. ToughGard Rigid Liner Board is designed for systems operating at velocities up to 6,000 fpm and temperatures to 250° F. It meets all the requirements of ASTM C 1071, NFPA 90A and 90B, and the CABO, BOCA, ICBO, SBCCI, and ICC model building codes. Condensation on exterior duct surfaces is also controlled when the rigid liner board is used, potentially resulting in improved IAQ by reducing unwanted moisture.
