New 20-Function Right-Angle LED Light Offers Unmatched Versatility, Output

Streamlight® Sidewinder(TM) Increases Utility of Flashlights for Industrial and Auto Professionals

EAGLEVILLE, PA - July 26, 2007 - Designed to be the most versatile hands-free flashlight available to industrial professionals, the new Sidewinder(TM) from Streamlight® packs twenty functions, four selectable LED light colors and intensity levels, plus strobe, and an innovative articulating light head into one compact, lightweight and waterproof package.

The Sidewinder leverages the latest microprocessor controlled multi-source LED technology, allowing users to select between a ½-Watt high-flux white LED (20 Lumens typical at full intensity), red (630 nm), green (520 nm) or blue (470 nm) LED, each with four intensity levels, and a strobe mode that operates at 100% intensity.

"The Sidewinder gives a wide range of industrial workers, including aviation professionals, mechanics, utility workers, and others additional lighting options and features compared to the standard right-angle flashlight designs," said Streamlight Chief Operating Officer, Ray Sharrah. "The red or safety green LEDs can help pilots, for example, preserve night vision when reading maps or charts, the white LED is good for all-purpose use on a plant or shop floor, and the blue LED is useful for close-up inspections or repairs under low light conditions."

The On-Off mode selector switch centralizes all light controls, but ergonomically separates the On-Off and Dimming functions from the mode/light color selection. The switch features a rubber dome switch for On-Off and power level selection, and is housed within a four-position, pull-to-turn locking rotary knob for mode selection. The selector knob is designed for easy operation, even with heavy gloves, and provides a tactile indicator when the green LED has been selected.

The articulating head design allows precise light placement within a 185-degree range, and the strong spring steel clip with integral helmet mount securely fastens the Sidewinder to a helmet, belt or vest.

The high-impact Nylon case - available in Coyote or Green - and scratch-resistant, unbreakable polycarbonate lens are O-ring sealed for exceptional durability and weather resistance. The Sidewinder meets MIL-STD-810F, Method 512.4 guidelines for waterproof operation, and runs on two "AA" size batteries - either Alkaline or Lithium, which offer extended performance in extreme temperature environments (-40F to 150F). A tethered battery compartment cap and tactile battery polarity indicators make battery changes in the dark easier to accomplish. A cord attachment ports in the body is capable of supporting up to 25-pounds.

The Sidewinder delivers more than 100-hours of runtime with any LED color at low intensity. At full-power, the Sidewinder delivers runtimes of between seven and 12 hours of runtime, depending on LED selection. The Sidewinder automatically shifts light intensity to the low-power setting at the end of the rated battery runtime to maximize battery life.

The Sidewinder features a one-year limited warranty, and carries a suggested retail price of $79.95. For more information, visit www.streamlight.com or call 800-523-7488.
