Ridat Broadens Blister Sealing Range

Britain's leading manufacturer and exporter of thermoforming machinery, the Ridat Company, is broadening its product range, building on the company's move to new premises in Resolven, South Wales.
First off the line is Ridat's new development in blister sealing equipment. Based on the popular model 1518BSP, it has a maximum jig size of 15 inches x 18 inches (380mm x 450mm) and is available in both rotary and inline conveyor variants.
To meet specific user packaging requirements, the rotary model can be supplied with 2, 4, 5, or 6 stations. The inline conveyor version will usually have 24 sealings, but with the option of sealing alternate stations so reducing the number of jigs employed.
Microprocessor control of geared motor and electronic inverter are used for indexing on all models. Electronic control of the heat system ensures accuracy and consistency of backing card blister sealing.
The Ridat machines offer the added facility of add on modules, such as blister de-nester, card placement, and pack removal. For easier recycling of packaging material, it is now becoming common to incorporate two card placement stations, which enable the product-containing blister to be encapsulated during sealing.
Alongside these new developments, Ridat are also offering a high-speed inline conveyor system featuring a unique twin sealing station, which allows running at speeds of up to 25 cycles per minute.
This twin sealing operation eliminates the need for extra heat and pressure, which avoids the scorching and/or indentation of the backing card that can often occur with other machines on the market
