Ricoh Introduces New Line of Color Laser Products
Streamlined Design Offers High Image Quality and Personalization for Small Office Environments
WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Jan. 10 -- Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today introduced a new series of color laser printers -- the Aficio(R) SP C222DN Series -- and color laser multifunction products (MFPs) -- the Aficio(R) SP C222SF Series. All six models feature a sleek, compact design that provides a more personal look and feel for small workgroups seeking to maximize office productivity and energize documents with vibrant business color.
Designed to integrate easily in any office environment, the Aficio SP C222DN and Aficio SP C222SF Series are both PC and MAC compatible. The six models are easy to set-up and manage as they use less than half the quantity of supplies of previous Ricoh models. In fact, supplies are shipped pre- installed to further increase ease-of-use for customers. With innovative design elements, both series provide an aesthetically pleasing addition to any office environment. In addition, the small footprint of all six models make them ideal to be housed in remote offices, an executive suite and other space restricted areas.
The Aficio SP C222DN Series is made up of three separate models: the Aficio SP C220DN, SP C221DN and SP C222DN. The Aficio SP C220DN produces black and white as well as color prints at 16 pages per minute (ppm), while the SP C221DN and SP C222DN both generate documents at 21 ppm. Additionally, first print speed for the entire series is only 14 seconds. Production downtime is greatly minimized due to the Aficio SP C221DN and SP C222DN's large paper capacity. The SP C222DN also comes standard with automatic duplexing that reduces paper use and supply costs.
The quality and reliability of the Aficio SP C222DN Series is unmatched. Offering resolutions up to 2400 x 600 dots per inch (dpi), users can print reports, Web pages, presentations and other documents with crisp, vibrant color. Color profiles available for the Aficio SP C222DN Series also allow users to print company logos and brand colors.
Managing the Aficio SP C222DN Series is made simple with Status Image Monitor software, which enables users to check supply levels and change settings via the Web. Furthermore, the printers control panel uses an alert light for error notifications and LED indicators that tell users when supplies need to be replenished. Understanding that the changing of supplies, such as ink cartridges, can often be a difficult and dirty task, Ricoh equipped this series with All-in-One Cartridges that can be replaced with one hand and a top-loading design on the printers for easy access and less mess. On the SP C222DN model, users can also print photos via the color printers' PictBridge(TM) support that can be connected to a compliant digital camera.
In regard to the MFPs, the first in the Aficio SP C222SF Series is the SP C220S. Equipped with copy, print and scan capabilities, the SP C220S prints and copies at 16 ppm for both black and white and color documents. The Aficio SP C221SF and SP C222SF print and copy at 21 ppm. The Aficio SP C221SF and SP C222SF also offer facsimile features that include a G3 transmission speed of 3 seconds per page, a 100-page memory capacity and 20 One-Touch numbers and 50 Speed Dials, which provide increased speed and convenience. All three MFPs provide resolutions of up to 2400 x 600 dpi and laser quality printing and copying to ensure fast, consistent results. In addition, items can be scanned to resolutions of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi or converted to text for easy editing capabilities.
The Aficio SP C222SF Series enable small businesses and workgroups to possess the same high-quality printing capabilities that their much larger counterparts enjoy. The affordable Aficio SP C221SF and SP C222SF offer automatic duplex printing and all models feature Scan-to technologies and TWAIN drivers, making it possible to reduce paper usage and supply costs. The time and money allocated to the management of these devices is minimized due to Status Image Monitor, software that allows users to remotely check supply levels and modify settings, and the PageManager utility, an easy-to-use application that enables automated file management, OCR scanning, and other time-saving functions. Furthermore, utilizing All-in-One Cartridges, the MFPs are able to simplify inventory and storage as well as make ink cartridge replacement an effortless feat.

For the Aficio SP C222DN Series, the suggested retail price for the SP C220DN, SP C221DN and SP C222DN is $529.00, $629.00 and $759.00, respectively. The suggested retail price for the Aficio SP C220S is $829.00, for the SP C221SF is $949.00 and for the SP C222SF is $1,049.00.
