Ricoh Demonstrates DOT AutoMail Automation Software at AIIM ON DEMAND 2006

PHILADELPHIA, May 16 / Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, will be demonstrating its DOT AutoMail software at the AIIM ON DEMAND Conference and Exposition 2006. The mail automation software offers increased efficiency, lower postage costs and improved security for large, presorted mailings.

DOT AutoMail simplifies mass mailing by incorporating several different tasks into one seamless function. The software is capable of presorting files, certifying the accuracy of addresses, adding bar-code information, calculating postage fees and printing all necessary United States Postal Service documentation, all in one simple step. Based on the number of pages in each envelope, AutoMail is able to calculate the weight of each piece, assign postage fees accordingly, generate any necessary postal reports and print all manifests needed for shipping. By creating a manifest, the user is given a detailed report of how many mail pieces were sent, the manner in which they were sorted and the total cost of the project.

By allowing the user to conduct this process in-house, DOT AutoMail saves a business up to 25 percent in postage, eliminates costs incurred by purchasing presort equipment or outsourcing to an unregulated presort house and reduces delivery times.

In addition, DOT AutoMail offers improved security precautions over other methods of presorted mailings. The software minimizes the chain of possession of sensitive data by eliminating the need for third party assistance and therefore decreasing opportunities for security breaches. DOT AutoMail also increases compliance with both the Gramm Leach Bliley and Sarbanes Oxley Acts, both of which have tightened security measures that businesses must incorporate.
