IDEAL Adds Ribbon Fiber Jacket Stripper to its Stripmaster Lineup

SYCAMORE, IL, August 7, 2002 - With the addition of its Stripmaster Ribbon Fiber Jacket Stripper, IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. makes it easier than ever for data communications professionals to remove the jacket from Corning Plenum, Riser Ribbon Fiber and "Fanout" Ribbon cables without damage to the Kevlar strength member.

As Tom Reinert, Product Manager-Fiber Optic Tools, pointed out: "The IDEAL Stripmaster design has long been popular for general cable stripping operations because it grips and strips in one motion, resulting in improved user productivity, perfectly stripped cable, and reduced fatigue. Welve applied the Stripmaster concept to stripping ribbon fiber jacket and come up with the best solution the technican or installer can ask for."

The Stripmaster features knife-type, form-ground blades that penetrate the outer jacket accurately and nick-free. A single squeeze grips and strips the outer jacket without disturbing the underlying Kevlar strength member. Unlike general use strippers that can damage the Kevlar strength member of the ribbon fiber, the Stripmaster's blades were engineered exclusively for specific Corning fiber. Moreover, because the blades are pre-sized to fit the cable, the Stripmaster eliminates guesswork and the need for tool readjusting.

Like all Stripmaster products, this version features a sturdy die-cast frame that assures long-term durability, even under the worst environments. The vinyl-coated, cushioned comfort-grip handles provide a secure grip, and help reduce repetitive motion fatigue.
