RFID System provides personnel location accountability.

Press Release Summary:

Based on ActiveTag(TM) platform, RFID System uses long range personnel cards with embedded battery and electronics to automatically track personnel as they move throughout facility. When worn by personnel, cards can be activated on-demand at doors or virtual entrances to areas. Card data is reported over enterprise network to OnlineSupervisor(TM) database and software system, and if location violation is found, system initiates wireless alerts to security personnel.

AXCESS International Introduces New Automatic Personnel Location Accountability Solution at Leading RFID Industry Trade Show

DALLAS, Feb. 27 / -- AXCESS International Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: AXSI), a leading provider of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems, today announced the introduction of its new automatic personnel location accountability solution at the 2006 RFID World Conference and Exposition. One of the RFID industry's leading events, the conference is being held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, Texas, from February 27 through March 1. The new RFID application, based on the ActiveTag(TM) platform, provides automatic personnel location accountability as required in multiple industries, including the Department of Defense (DoD), financial securities and services, healthcare, warehouses, and data centers. Following demonstrations for the DoD and the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) where AXCESS proved the dramatic reduction in cost of managing facility operations where secured areas exist through the use of RFID, the solution is presently ready for commercial sale. AXCESS will be exhibiting the solution in booth #710 for the duration of the show.

The RFID solution uses long range personnel cards which are the exact size and form factor of standard access control cards. The cards have an embedded battery and electronics to automatically track, in a hands-free mode (or without any human intervention), personnel as they move throughout a facility. When worn by personnel, the RFID cards can be activated on-demand (called semi-active operation) at doors or at virtual entrances to areas and provide their exact location and direction.

The system includes security authorization levels which can be changed dynamically, by time of day, for example. Card data is reported over the standard enterprise network to the OnlineSupervisor(TM) enterprise database and software system. Card data is compared with business rules and, if a location violation is found, initiates wireless alerts that are sent to security personnel. The system includes a visual location presentation on the facility floor plan. Optionally, live video can be integrated with each tag event for more rapid and accurate response. It can also integrate recorded video clips linked to each incident. The full automated system includes a full reporting package to support compliance with government and enterprise reporting requirements of the most stringent magnitude.

RFID World is the nation's largest industry event focused on RFID technology and applications. Thousands of attendees will be meeting with exhibitors looking for RFID solutions that meet their business requirements.

AXCESS' patented ActiveTag(TM) RFID systems use small, battery powered tags (generically called "semi-active" tags) that when automatically activated, transmit a wireless message typically 30 to 100 feet to hidden palm size receivers. The receivers are connected via standard network simultaneously to the enterprise system software, the existing security alarm equipment, and standalone management software. Optionally, the tag system can be used to trigger security video recording and live remote video transmission. The tags are used for a variety of enterprise productivity applications including automatic personnel access control and tracking, automatic vehicle access control and payload management, automatic asset management and protection, as well as special purpose sensing. Automatic email alerting and paging is offered for rapid response to security related incidents.
