Press Release Summary:
Spring-loaded lids on radio frequency (RF) test sockets provide consistent lead pressure. Precise pressure requirements can be met with mix-and-match springs from 1/2 to 25 lbs. Each socket comes with floating leadbacker built into every lid, and lids can be used throughout RF/microwave, automated handling and burn-in/life testing applications. Each socket has Microstrip Contacts, which can be used for any pitch device up to 208 leads.

Aries Electronics Introduces RF Test Sockets With Spring-Loaded Lids
Frenchtown, NJ, November 2001 - Aries Electronics, an international manufacturer of standard, programmed and custom interconnection products, has introduced radio frequency (RF) test sockets with spring-loaded lids that provide more consistent lead pressure on every socket.
Also, precise pressure requirements can be met with mix-and-match springs as low as 1/2 lb. up to over 25 lbs. and each sockets comes with a floating leadbacker built into every lid to ensure precise pressure on every lead.
As with all of Aries RF test sockets, the new spring-loaded lid design can be used throughout RF/microwave, automated handling and burn-in/life testing applications. In addition, each socket is equipped with Aries' patented Microstrip Contacts, which can be used for any pitch device up to 208 leads and features a low dielectric strip that holds the contacts in place for accurate lead placement.
This unique contact system becomes part of the printed circuit board microstrip during device testing. Life cycles for the test sockets' Microstrip Contacts are typically greater than 500,000 insertions, with no loss of performance.
Pricing for the new RF test sockets with spring-loaded lids starts at $2,553 for one piece with 48 leads or less. Delivery is 4 to 6 weeks A.R.O
