Industry's Smallest RF Relays from Omron Feature Low Power Consumption
SCHAUMBURG, IL (June 26, 2002)-Omron's four new RF relays, the G6K-RF, G6Z, G6Y and G6W, all feature small size and low power consumption. The G6K-RF, the G6Z, and the G6W are all the smallest relays of their type on the market. The G6Z measures 9.5mm x 8.6mm x 20mm; the G6W is 9.2mm x 9.4mm x 20mm; and the G6K-RF is 5.4 x 6.9 x 10.3. The new Omron RF relays G6Z, G6Y and G6W have the low power consumption of 200mW and the G6K-RF has the power consumption of 100mW. In addition, each relay features good isolation characteristics. At 1GHz, the isolation for the G6K-RF is 20dB and the G6Y is 60dB. At 2.5GHz, the isolation for the G6Z is 30dB and the G6W is 60dB.
The G6Z's characteristic impedance allows it to work at both 50 ohms and 75 ohms, which provides versatility and ease of use for varying design needs. In addition, the G6Z and G6W feature both a "Y" and "E" input/output arrangement that provides designers the ability to lay out a PC board without the need for extra tracings and patterns. Also, Omron also offers reverse contacts versions with the G6Z and G6W, further reducing the need for extra tracings on the board. The G6Z and G6W all are SMT and PCB throughole mountable. The G6Y is PCB throughole mountable and the G6K-RF is available in SMT.
Ideal applications for the G6Z, G6Y and G6W are in wireless infrastructure equipment for applications like filter and duplex switching, antenna switching, and amplifiers. In addition, G6Z and G6Y applications include cable TV boxes and satellite equipment. The G6K-RF is ideal for instrumentation and high-speed LAN networks.
