RF Engines Short-Listed Again in The Elektra 06 European Electronic Awards

Newport, UK - 14 September 2006 - RF Engines Limited (RFEL), the provider of high performance solutions for FPGAs, has been short listed in the 2006 'Elektra' European Electronic Awards in the 'Embedded System Innovation of the Year' category.

RFEL won the 'Start up of the Year' award at the European Awards in 2003, and were also finalists in the 'Research and Development' award category in 2005.

At this year's event being held in Munich on 15 November, the RFEL product that is being recognised is 'ChannelCore64(TM)'. The product allows designers to replace up to 16 specialist DDC ASIC devices with a single IP core embedded in an FPGA.

John Summers, RFEL's CEO, said "We're delighted to be shortlist again this year in what has become a very competitive and prestigious event. There are some other very impressive innovations being considered this year, and so to go on and win the category would be a tremendous achievement. We do a lot of business in Germany, so it's great that the event is being held during Electronica in Munich this year!"

Since RF Engines was formed, they have won a number of major international awards including:
